Take Charge In Challenging Times – A Story

One businessman was completely a self-made man, found himself in a severe crisis. His business had collapsed. Hence, he found himself in a lot of debt. He couldn’t figure out a way to come out of it. Every day creditors were pressing him to start paying up, suppliers were also demanding payments.

He felt himself slipping into an abyss…a really, really low space. One day, as he was just wandering around, he landed up sitting on a bench in a park with his head down in his hands. He was thinking about what could save him from bankruptcy. Suddenly an old man appeared in front of him. He said to him, I see that something is really bothering you. Feeling totally overwhelmed, the businessman spoke about his plight to this old man.

He told him everything that was going on with him…

After listening to his story, the old man said, I think I can help you. The businessman wondered what he was saying. He asked the businessman what his name was and then wrote him a check. Then he said, take the money! We will meet her exactly in one year, and then you will be able to return this money to me.

After saying this, he turned around and disappeared just as suddenly as he had appeared. The businessman then looked down and saw the check in his hand. It amounted to $500,000 signed by John Rockefeller, one of the richest people in the world at that time. The businessman didn’t know what to make of it. And so, he decided he was going to put the check in the safe and not really use it at that time. With the return of optimism, his mental and emotional energy started changing and he decided to revive his business. He concluded profitable deals in a couple of months. He got out of debt and started to earn good money again. All because he knew that there was this check in his safe.

One year later he returned to the park with the same check.

At the agreed time the old man appeared again. The businessman was absolutely ready to return the check and tell this person all about the story of success. At that moment, a nurse ran up and grabbed the old man. She said, I’m so glad I got him. She said I hope he wasn’t bothering you. He always runs away from the house and tells everyone that he is John Rockefeller!

The businessman was amazed! Suddenly he understood that it was actually not about the money in the safe whether real or imaginary, that turned his life up. It was his belief that gave him the strength to achieve everything that he had right now. Question is, what are the beliefs that are either limiting you in your life right now or they are actually propelling you to move forward to the life that you truly deserve and desire?
